Twelve individuals have been arrested on Monday at a truckers’ protest blocking the Pacific Freeway border crossing in Surrey, B.C., one of many varied demonstrations that had sprung up throughout the nation because the so-called “Freedom Convoy” drove into Ottawa on Jan. 29.
It was the largest crackdown on the border crossing because the protest towards COVID-19 measures started there final week. Over the weekend, some drivers drove their vans over a median, breaching a police blockade and resulting in 4 individuals being taken into custody. Monday’s arrests deliver that complete to 16.
